Townshend & Fuller in NYC

Townshend accompanies Rachel Fuller on "Breathe" at Barnes & Noble in NYC, September 11, 2006. The performance was to promote Rachel's CD, "Shine." The lyrics could not have been more poetic on that particular anniversary.
After setting the needle down on the vinyl cut of "Overture" from The Who's 1969 concept album, "Tommy," I hear, "Don't play that. I'm just not... in the mood to hear that right now." Little did I know that my high school girlfriend associated "Tommy" with her Summertime lover. Her parents had a house down in Rosarito Beach, Mexico, and while I was at my summer church camp she was having a south of the border affair... underscored by The Who.
